The doctor women send their sisters to

Two things at once

Patients describe Dr. Bhamare the same way over and over: she listened, and then she explained it in words that made sense. That’s why so many of them arrive on a friend’s recommendation rather than a search result.

Underneath that is serious surgical craft. MBBS, MS, DNB, MRCOG (UK), DiSRM (UK), FMAS, and a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility from the USA. She operates through incisions a few millimetres wide, using robotic assistance for fibroids, endometriosis and complex pelvic surgery: work that fifteen years ago meant an open abdomen and six weeks of recovery.

The training is what makes the surgery safe. The listening is what makes the decision yours.

Before you worry

Most of what brings women here turns out to be treatable.

Some of it turns out to be nothing at all. Both are worth ten unhurried minutes to find out.

Your body usually whispers first

Some of these turn out to be nothing. That’s a good outcome, and it’s worth ten unhurried minutes to find out.

  • Periods that changed. Heavier, more painful, irregular, or gone altogether.
  • Trouble conceiving. Under 35 and trying for a year, or over 35 and trying for six months. Both partners, not you alone.
  • Pelvic pain or pressure. An ache, heaviness or bloating that keeps coming back.
  • Bleeding that doesn’t belong. Between periods, after sex, or any bleeding after menopause.
  • PCOS signs. Stubborn weight changes, acne, unwanted hair growth, cycles you can’t predict.
  • A diagnosis you don’t understand. Bring the report. A second opinion is not disloyalty to your first doctor.

None of these mean the worst. All of them mean it’s worth asking.

A first visit is about 20 to 30 minutes. You will leave with a plan you understand, and no pressure to decide anything that day.

Find out first, treat second

Nothing gets recommended until there’s a clear picture. Every test is explained: what it looks for, what it costs, and whether you actually need it.

TestWhat it tells us
Ultrasound & sonography A painless, real-time look at the uterus, ovaries and pelvis.
Hormone & fertility panel AMH, FSH and thyroid: ovarian reserve and hormonal balance in one blood draw.
Ovulation tracking Whether and when you’re ovulating, so timing isn’t guesswork.
Hysteroscopy & laparoscopy A direct look inside, used only when it will change the plan.
Tubal assessment (HSG) Whether the fallopian tubes are open.
Semen analysis Roughly a third of fertility difficulty is male-factor. Both partners get tested.

The techniques she uses were taught to her in London and in the USA. She spends a meaningful part of her year giving them away, at national and international conferences on robotic gynaecology, in training sessions for younger surgeons, and in community health talks across Pune.

It matters for a practical reason. A surgeon who teaches a procedure has to be able to defend every step of it.

The questions patients actually ask

01

When should you see a fertility specialist, and why earlier is kinder

Most couples wait far longer than they need to. Here’s the honest timeline, and what actually happens at a first visit.

02

Robotic, keyhole or open: what the difference means for your recovery

Smaller scars are the least interesting part. A plain-language comparison of how each one works, who it suits, and what the first two weeks feel like.

03

PCOS isn’t your fault, and it’s more manageable than it feels

What’s actually happening hormonally, what the tests show, and the handful of changes that make the biggest difference.

Questions before the first visit

If your question is not here, ask it directly. The front desk answers on WhatsApp, and Dr. Bhamare answers the rest at the consultation.

For the right cases, it usually means less blood loss, smaller scars, less pain and a faster recovery. It isn’t automatically better for every condition. Some cases are genuinely better served by keyhole or open surgery, and Dr. Bhamare will say so. The robot is an instrument she controls; it doesn’t make decisions.

Most patients go home within one to two days and return to desk work in about two weeks, depending on the procedure and their own health. You’ll get a specific answer for your case before you consent to anything.

If you’re under 35 and have been trying for a year, or over 35 and have been trying for six months, it’s time. Come earlier if you have irregular cycles, known endometriosis or PCOS, or a previous pregnancy loss. Both partners should come to the first appointment.

No, and many people are relieved to hear it. A significant number of couples conceive with cycle tracking, medication or IUI. IVF is recommended when the evaluation shows it’s genuinely the right route, not as a default.

About 20–30 minutes. She’ll take a full history, examine you if needed, look at any reports you bring, and explain what she thinks is going on. Bring previous scans, blood tests and a list of medicines. You’ll leave with a plan you understand, and no pressure to decide anything that day.
